Vlambeer Announces Super Crate Box for iOS


[Update: The original post incorrectly noted that Super Crate Box was a Flash title, when it was actually made using Game Maker for Windows and Mac OSX. ]

Indie developer Vlambeer has been busy, as of late. Among their recent projects has been Ridiculous Fishing, a newer version of their past Flash title, Radical Fishing. At the time, it was believed that the game would be Vlambeer’s first iOS title.

It turns out they have something else planned for Apple devices a little sooner than that.

Vlambeer has announced a collaboration with Canadian developer Halfbot that will bring Vlambeer’s hit title, Super Crate Box, to all iOS devices. Super Crate Box is the retro-arcade style shooter in which players rack up high scores using high-powered weaponry contained within crates. Those that haven’t played this game yet can still download the PC and Mac versions for free from the Super Crate Box website. The game is well worth your time. (Check out our IGC review here.)

Pricing for the iOS version of Super Crate Box has not yet been revealed. Super Crate Box for iOS will arrive in September.
